Enviro Campers AU Backpacker information

As someone who has chosen to holiday in Australia, we recognise that you appreciate the special qualities of our environment. The landscapes and wildlife that make Australia special are precious, and they need protection.

To make it easy for visitors to show their respect for our country's natural assets, the operators of Enviro Campers, Tourism Holdings Limited (THL), have teamed with BP to be the first campervan rental company to participate in the BP Global ChoiceTM program. This participation is a significant step in THL Rentals' plans for a greener future

How does the BP Global ChoiceTM program work?
BP's environmental program, BP Global ChoiceTM, is designed to offset emissions caused by the fuel consumption of THL's campervans.

BP Global Choice works like a set of balance scales. It aims to balance the greenhouse emissions generated through fuel consumption by helping Australian projects to reduce emissions by an equivalent amount. BP calculates the greenhouse emissions that our fuel consumption generates. THL Rentals then directly pays a small premium on top of their fuel purchase according to the percentage of emissions they would like to offset - they have chosen to offset 100%. That premium is then invested in abatement projects around Australia.

To date BP Global ChoiceTM has reduced greenhouse gas emissions in Australia by 819,824 tonnes, which is equivalent to taking 122, 523 cars off the road. THL Rentals is eager to help increase this number further and take action against climate change.

BP Global ChoiceTM is the first program to be independently audited and certified Greenhouse Friendly by the Australian Greenhouse Office. Valuable emission reduction projects are identified and contracted to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by customer’s use of BP fuel.

It's nice to know that your Australian adventure is giving something back to nature!

In this instance, the surcharge is refunded when the bond is refunded. If a bond is retained the surcharge is retained.

RATES
Rates are changed regularly depending on availability. The rate for the entire duration of the rental is determined by the date of pick-up, location and date of booking. The daily rate will not change within one booking. Amendments prior to pick-up will be re-calculated at the rate applicable on the date of amendment. This applies to changing the vehicle type, reducing the number of rental days, changing pick-up dates or changing the pick-up or drop-off location. Where the number of rental days is being extended (days are being added onto the end of the hire with no change to the original pick up date) prior to pick-up, the extended days will be charged at the original rate which applied at the time of the original booking.

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration third party insurance. The Supplier strongly recommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance. All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. The hirer is responsible for the first AU$1,900 (“the excess”) for the 2 Berth BP2BB if the driver is between the  ages of 18 an 20 or AU$1,000 (“the excess”) for the 2 Berth BP2BB if the driver is 21+ years if age,  AU$2,700 (“the excess”) for 2-3 Berth BP2BHTand 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$4,400 (“the excess”) for the Off - Roader 4wd of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs.
The excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time the accident report is completed, not at the completion of the rental. The excess will be refunded if The Supplier is successful in recovering the cost of the damages from the third party. Please note that third party claims can take months to resolve.

The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental.
Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all insurance cover will be made void.
The excess can be reduced, in most circumstances, by the purchase of excess reduction option 1 or excess reduction option 2. Note excess reduction 2 and PCO2 are included in the smart pack.

Excess Reduction Option 1:

Prices for these policies are quoted at the time of booking
2 Berth BP2BB: Bond (debited) /excess reduced to AU$500
2-3 Berth BP2BHT,  2 Berth T/S BP2BTS: Bond (debited) /excess reduced to AU$1200
2-3 Berth BP4WD: Bond/excess reduced to AU$2200

With Excess Reduction Option 1 the hirer is responsible for the first AU$500 (2 Berth BP2BB), AU$1,200 (2-3 Berth BP2BHT and 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS) or AU$2,200 (2-3 Berth BP4WD) of ANY ACCIDENT COST of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all Excess Reduction cover will be made void.

Excess Reduction Option 2:

Prices for these policies are quoted at the time of booking
2 Berth BP2BB:  excess reduced to Nil, Bond AU$220(imprint only)
2-3 Berth BP2BHT, 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS: Excess reduced to Nil, Bond reduced to AU$220 (imprint only)
2-3 Berth BP4WD: Excess reduced to Nil, Bond reduced to AU$440(imprint only)

With Excess Reduction Option 2 the hirer will not have to pay an excess for any damage to the vehicle when the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This also includes the cost of the daily rental rate for the period the vehicle is off fleet for accident repairs. The excess applies in respect of each claim, not rental. Note: Excess Reduction Option 2 is included in the Smart Pack. Please see the ‘Exclusions’ section below, whereby all Excess Reduction cover will be made void.

No Worries Cover Option (PCO2)
The No Worries Cover Option is a one off fee of AU$50 per hire for 2WD vehicles and AU$80 for 4WD vehicles.
The No Worries Cover Option is only available when Excess Reduction 2 has been purchased. With the No Worries Cover Option, the hirer will not have to pay any excess at all for any damage to the vehicle or property of a Third Party with the exception of the ‘exclusions’. This will include accidental overhead or underbody damage to the vehicle. Please note overhead and underbody damage cover is excluded unless the no worries cover option has been purchased. Note: Excess Reduction Option 2 and the PCO2 option are included in the Smart Pack.

TYRE AND WINDSCREEN DAMAGE – Where the hire has a nil excess up to one windscreen and two tyres will be covered for accidental damage. Should these amounts be exceeded the cost to repair or replace the items will not be covered and will be the responsibility of the hirer.

EXCLUSIONS:
All insurance cover will be made void if any of the following ‘Exclusions’ are breached:
1. Overhead and underbody damage to the vehicle – except where no worries cover has been purchased.
2. Any water related damage which includes, but is not limited to:
a) any vehicle submersion
b) creek or river crossing
c) driving through low plain flooded areas
d) beach driving
3. Personal belongings. The Supplier recommends the hirer does not leave valuables in the vehicle and that they have insurance to cover for the loss/damage of personal belongings.
4. Any damage caused by willful misconduct (e.g. sitting or standing on the bonnet or roof of the vehicle).
5. Any damage caused while driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
6. A single vehicle roll over occurs.
7. The Customer will be liable for any cost associated with the incorrect use of fuel or the use of Bio-Diesel which should not be used (fuel being diesel or petrol), or water or other contamination of fuel.
8. The cost to retrieve or recover a vehicle, which may include, but is not limited to a vehicle that has become bogged, submerged or has been abandoned.
9. The cost to replace keys, which have been lost or retrieval of keys, which have been locked in a vehicle.
10. The vehicle rented may only be used to carry the maximum number of passengers as dictated by the vehicle type. If more passengers are carried than what is allowed The Supplier does not accept any liability.
11. Drivers not identified on the rental agreement and/or drivers that have a licence that has been cancelled or suspended and/or drivers who have a licence that is classified as a learners or probationary licence.

VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSIT

Upon vehicle collection, a security deposit is required. The amount is determined by the excess reduction option selected.
For security purposes, only a credit card can be used to provide a vehicle security deposit. The credit card holder must be present and able to sign for the vehicle security deposit upon vehicle collection. The credit card holder is jointly and severally liable for any damage to the rental vehicle.

All debited bonds are subject to a 1.75% credit card administration fee  in addition to the bond amount. This administration fee is refunded when the bond is refunded. If a bond is retained the administration fee is retained.

If an Excess Reduction Option is not selected, the security deposit is AU$1,900 for the 2 Berth BP2BB where a driver is 18-20 years of age or AU$1,000 for the 2 Berth BP2BB if the driver is 21+ years of age, AU$2,700 for the 2-3 Berth BP2BHT and 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$4,400 for the 2-3 Berth BP4WD payable by credit card. In the case of the rented vehicle being the 2 Berth BP2BB where one driver is 18-20 years of age and another is 21+ the AU$1900 security deposit applies.
The AU$1,900, AU$1,000, AU$2,700 or AU$4,400 is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If Excess Reduction Option 1 has been taken the security deposit is AU$500 for the 2 Berth BP2BB, AU$1,200 for the 2-3 Berth BP2BHT or 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$2,200 for the 2-3 Berth BP4WD.

The AU$500 for 2 Berth BP2BB, AU$1,200 for 2-3 Berth BP2BHT or 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$2,200 for 2-3 Berth BP4WD is debited to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. For this reason it is important that the hirer have the funds available on the credit card and that the amount does not exceed the hirer’s daily withdrawal allowance available on the credit card.

If Excess Reduction Option 2 is selected with or without no worries cover or the package booked is inclusive the security deposit is AU$220 for 2 Berth BP2BB, 2-3 Berth BP2BHT and the 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$440 for the Off - Roader 4wd.

The AU$220 for 2wd vehicle /$440 for 4wd vehicle is taken as an imprint to the hirer’s credit card when the vehicle is collected. An imprint simply records a figure against the hirers credit card that The Supplier can then debit if required.

The security deposit is fully refundable provided the vehicle is returned on time, to the correct location, undamaged, with a clean interior and with full fuel tanks (fuel being petrol or diesel) and gas bottle. Except where the customer has purchased the Pre-Purchase Gas Option (PGO is included in the inclusive option) and/or Pre Purchase Fuel (PPF), failure to return the vehicle with full petrol or diesel tanks and/or a full LPG bottle will result in refill charges, which will be advised upon return of the vehicle.

The Supplier reserves the right to retain an AU$220 cleaning fee if the vehicle is not returned with the interior in a clean condition. The toilet and waste water tank must be emptied prior to the return of the vehicle, or an additional AU$125 soiling fee will be retained.

FOR SECURITY PURPOSES, ONLY THE HIRER'S CREDIT CARD CAN BE USED FOR VEHICLE SECURITY DEPOSITS.

We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.

Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.

Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.

A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.

If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.

Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.

Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.

Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

Enviro Campers AU Backpacker Insurance

Insurance for travel  from 1 Apr 08 to 31 Mar 09

FOR YOUR PROTECTION
Personal injury is covered in most cases through registration third party insurance. The Supplier strongly recommends that all people travelling in Australia take out personal travel insurance. All vehicles are insured for the damage to the vehicle or to the property of a third party. The hirer is responsible for the first AU$1,900 (“the excess”) for the 2 Berth BP2BB if the driver is between the  ages of 18 an 20 or AU$1,000 (“the excess”) for the 2 Berth BP2BB if the driver is 21+ years if age,  AU$2,700 (“the excess”) for 2-3 Berth BP2BHT and 2 Berth T/S BP2BTS or AU$4,400 (“the excess”) for the Off - Roader 4wd of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire, break-in or vandalism with the exception of the ‘exclusions’.

SMART PACK: RECOMMENDED FOR COMPLETE PEACE OF MIND
The smart pack for campervan rentals is great value. Payable per day in addition to the daily rental rate. Prices for each vehicle are quoted at the time of booking. The smart pack includes:
- Excess Reduction Option 2 (nil excess)
- No Worries Cover Option (PCO2 – extends the insurance cover to include accidental damage to the overhead and underbody sections of the vehicle) - not included with the Enviro "2 Berth BP2BB" Smartpack.
- Stamp duty (2.5% of the total rental)- not included with Enviro "2 Berth BP2BB" Smartpack.
- Camping Stools (1 per person travelling).
 - LP Gas Refill (PGO - refill for gas bottle used for cooking and heating hot water in vehicles with a hot water facility upon return of vehicle).
