Energi Campers Tasmania Rental Terms for travel between 01-Jan-2008 and 31-Dec-2010 VEHICLE SECURITY BOND
There is a security bond that is payable on pick up of the vehicle and is as follows: A AUD$2,000.00 bond is payable by cash, prepaid cheque or credit card and can be reduced to AUD$1000.00 by an additional AUD$15.00 per day applied to the daily rental rate. The vehicle security bond is fully refunded provided the vehicle is returned on time, full of fuel and in a presentable internal condition. All vehicles fitted with toilets must be returned clean and emptied or a disposal fee of AUD$100.00 will be applied.
CANCELLATION POLICY
The initial deposit paid is non-refundable. In addition to forfeiting your deposit, the following charges also apply:
- If cancelled up to 24 days prior to pick up no fee is charged.
- If cancelled from 24 to 13 days prior to pick up a 20 percent of rental is charged.
- If cancelled 9 to 4 day prior to pick up 50 percent of rental is charged.
- If cancelled on 3 days prior to pick up or just don't turn up 100 percent of rental is charged and if the vehicle is returned early for any reason no refund is applicable.
INSURANCE
Energi Campers Tasmania offer the following insurance conditions: 2 Berth Sprinter and 4/6 Berth Motor Home
There is a $2,000.00 excess and is payable in the event of an accident by cash or credit card and can be reduced to $1,000.00 by an additional $15.00 per day applied to the daily rental rate.
2/3 Berth and 2/4 Berth Toyota Hiace Hi Top
There is a $1,500.00 excess and is payable in the event of an accident by cash or credit card and can be reduced to $750.00 by an additional $15.00 per day applied to the daily rental rate. Insurance does not include the following: 1. Personal belongings of the renter and would recommend the renter takes out their own personal insurance; 2. Damage caused by willful misconduct and driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs; 3. Cost to replace keys where they have been lost and the fee of getting the new keys to the renter; 4. An extra set of keys can be supplied at a cost of AUD$50.00 per rental and refunded totally when all keys are returned. 5. Overhead and under body damage to the vehicle; 6. If vehicle has been stuck or bogged on unsuitable roads the recovering vehicle is at the renter's cost; 7. Incorrect use of fuel (fuel being diesel or petrol). The renter is responsible for any costs associated; 8. Any water damage to vehicle either internal or external; 9. No vehicle is to be driven on unsealed roads and where ever this is proven a fee will be applied. The only exception to this is the gravel roads on BrunyIsland. Please note that in the event that the Vehicle is written off or in a major accident you will be liable and will forfeit the Security Bond and the Excess will be payable.
RENTAL DEPOSIT
A 15% booking deposit must be paid upon booking to ensure vehicle is secured for the renter.
CREDIT CARDS
Energi Campers Tasmania accepts Visa Card, Mastercard.
TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS
Energi Campers Tasmania will pass on to the renter any speeding fines, parking fines or any other fines associated with the rental agreement as well as associated administration costs. Any third party property damage associated with any rental agreement will also be passed on to the renter. An administration fee of AUD$40.00 may apply.
AGE QUALIFICATIONS
All drivers must be over the age of 21 years and have a full Driver's License to be presented at the time of signing the rental agreement.
YOUR PROTECTION INSURANCE
Any personal injury is covered in most cases through third party registration insurance however we strongly recommend that all people traveling take out their own personal travel insurance. Vehicle insurance for damages to the vehicle or property of third party is insured however the renter is responsible for the first AUD$3,000.00 excess of the cost of damages to either third party or rental vehicle including single vehicle accident, tyre damage, windscreen, towing and any recovery costs, fire, vandalism, theft or break in. This also includes the cost of the daily rental for that period the vehicle is off the rental fleet for accident repairs etc. Excess is applicable regardless of who is at fault and must be paid at the time of the accident. The excess will be refunded if our company is successful in recovering the cost of damages from the third party.
HANDY HINT
When packing for your Tasmanian travel experience we would recommend that you pack in soft carry bags rather than suitcases to ensure maximum utilisation of space in the vehicle.

When you pick up your vehicle, you will be required to sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle. Your rental and use of the vehicle will be governed by the terms of the rental agreement and any other documentation or information provided to you by the supplier at the time you pick up your vehicle. The rental agreement is between you and the supplier and we will not be liable to you or to any third party in relation to the terms of the supplier’s rental agreement or any other documentation provided to you by the supplier at the time of pick up.
While we will make reasonable efforts to ensure we are representing only reputable suppliers, we make no warranty about the fitness or suitability of any third party (supplier) product or service and will not accept responsibility for the quality or fitness of any vehicle. We welcome feedback from our customers on their experience with our suppliers. We may, at our discretion, provide you with reasonable assistance in resolving any dispute you may have with a supplier.
Our total liability to you in relation to your use of this website and the information contained on this website will not exceed the dollar amount of the deposit we have received from you in relation to your booking/rental. Refunds will not be made for bookings cancelled due to inclement weather. Again, we strongly recommend that you take out travel insurance. Your use of this website is governed by the laws of New Zealand and the jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
Booking information
To make a booking you must complete our booking form which is easy to follow and secured with the latest encryption technology. Once we receive your form, we will, subject to availability, confirm your booking by emailing you a confirmation voucher and invoice. The deposit required to secure your vehicle (as shown on the secure booking page) will only be processed on your credit card when your booking is confirmed. Please note that a 1.75% credit card charge will be added when your payment is processed.
A booking is confirmed when you have been emailed a confirmation voucher and at this stage the deposit is processed on your card and becomes non-refundable and any cancellation fees stated in the supplier's terms apply. Upon receipt of your confirmation, please check your details carefully and notify us immediately if there are any incorrect details, as it may not be possible to make changes at a later date.
If you are booking via phone, please make sure you have read the terms and conditions of the vehicle you wish to rent first. Our reservations consultant will ask you if you have read the terms and agree to them before proceeding. The onus is always on the renter to ensure they make themselves fully aware of the terms displayed on our website.
Information disclosure
In booking on this website you acknowledge that we disclose your information to your selected Supplier in order to provide the requested rental services.
Amendments
Please note that some suppliers treat an amendment as a new booking and apply the rate current at the time the amendment is made to recalculate the entire booking amount (not just the days changed). If the rental period is increased, an additional deposit may be required. If the rental period is shortened which results in a reduction of the rental charges, the deposit amount will remain unchanged, and the difference between the original and revised deposit is forfeited (it cannot be used towards remaining rental charges). To request a change to a confirmed booking, please use the alterations request link on your confirmation. Any alterations are subject to availability and the approval of the supplier. In addition to the alteration policy of the supplier stated in their terms, the following charges will apply:
Car rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 25.00
To add or remove extras to/from a confirmed booking: 10.00
Motorhome rental alterations (all charges stated in local currency):
To change dates or times that result in a recalculation of rental rates, or to change vehicles or locations: 75.00
To add or remove extras to/from confirmed booking: 20.00
The alteration fee will not be charged if your alteration request is not possible.
Vehicle Capacity and fitness to drive
Under no circumstances are you permitted to carry more passengers than the vehicle you rent is legally registered to carry, and if you do your insurance may be invalidated. The number of seatbelts (and passengers) is indicated next to each vehicle on this website. Luggage capacity where shown is an indication only and we will not be responsible should you be unable to fit your entire luggage into a vehicle. It is your responsibility to choose a journey that is within your capabilities. A vehicle supplier can refuse to rent a vehicle to any person who is in their opinion unfit to drive or does not meet eligibility requirements. In such circumstances we will have no further liability to you.

If however your flight arrives very late in the evening we may advise you to stay in local accommodation overnight and bring your vehicle to your hotel the following morning. Late Pick Ups
At our own discretion, we are able to meet some customers, within the Hobart City area or at Hobart Airport, outside of normal business hours. However, if your flight/arrival time is well outside office hours we may advise you to stay in local accommodation overnight, which will be at your own expense and you will still be charged for the intial day's rental. We will then bring your vehicle to your hotel the following morning. These details would be confirmed with you upon final booking confirmation.
